Your first and last sentences, when read one after the other, are pretty funny… I would say Zaha is another power deconstructivist too – certainly her early works and art – and I quite liked that stuff before it became so ‘international’ and generic IMO.
I loved the Fred and Ginger building seeing a picture of it for the first time – it’s just so surreal… but photography is so discriminate and seeing it in the flesh just left me indifferent – the worst kind of position to take on any creative work.
Gehry has done some cool stuff and pushed the envelope in a couple of areas but I too find his style somewhat lacking in substance and belonging.
Edit: I didn’t really know this so worth pointing out that some have said (e.g., do a google search) Gehry’s own house was one of the first examples of deconstructivist architecture – pretty interesting as I wouldn’t associate him with the movement, even though some elements of his work share some commonalities.
