I was at the Newark Airport last week, flying for the first time since December 2019, due to the pandemic. As I walked down a hallway past bathrooms, fast food, a Connie Chung hologram, and vendor kiosks, I saw a familiar “friend” – this Joan Miro print as seen below, framed and hanging on the wall by itself in what appears to be a random location. Except now it has a neighbor in the form of a sign and dispenser of hand sanitizer.
I wonder if Joan Miro could have ever imagined his art installed in a location like this? I think it’s kind of funny, and as far as my opinion of it – I like Miro’s art, so I’ll enjoy it wherever you want to hang it.
