Pre-pandemic, there was an open house and open studios event at the Manufacturers Village in East Orange, and I enjoyed visiting all of the studios and seeing a lot of interesting work. As I was glancing through some of my pictures from that day, I found this humorous image. It’s a problem common to many painters: the tube of paint has dried up and one needs to find something sharp to poke in there to open it up again. In this case, the artist jammed in a small scissors, but then decided to leave it stuck in there and hang it from a nail and call it an art work!
I wish I had made a note of which studio I saw this in – and if anyone out there knows who the artist is, let me know so that I can give proper credit.
